ENERGY AUDITS AIM TO REDUCE COSTS OF TOWONG BUILDINGS

25 May 2018 Border Mail, Albury-Wodonga (General News) FIFTEEN Towong Council sites will be assessed to see whether their energy consumption and operating costs can be reduced. Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the council would be awarded $23,753 under the local government energy saver program to conduct the audits. Buildings and facilities with high energy demand were selected based on relative energy usage, their age, building footprint and the amount of foot traffic coming through. The chosen sites are Corryong pool, Corryong airbase multi-function building, Man From Snowy River Museum, Corryong Visitor Information Centre, Corryong Kindergarten and Maternal Child Health, Corryong council office/library, Corryong Innovation Space, Corryong works depot,Tallangatta council office,Tallangatta depot,Tallangatta Integrated Community Centre,Tallangatta pool kiosk and pump shed,Tallangatta Old Kindergarten, Tallangatta Senior Citizens and Tallangatta Visitor Information Centre. Towong is one of 22 regional Victorian councils, described as resource-constrained, that are eligible for the program.
