FOUR primary schools within the Rural City of Wangaratta have signed up to the State Governments Breakfast Clubs program for next year. Students at Wangaratta District Specialist School, Yarrunga, Wangaratta West and Whorouly primary schools will be able to get a free, healthy breakfast each day, according to Jaclyn Symes (MLC, Northern Victoria). Ms Symes said more than 500 schools statewide had signed up for the$13.7 million program. With one in seven children arriving at school with an empty stomach, the provision of free breakfasts will ensure these students no longer go hungry and allow them to get the most out of their education, she said
