Funding for local clubs now open
Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes, is calling on local sport and recreation clubs to apply for one of VicHealths new Active Club Grants.
Active Club Grants provide groups with up to $3,000 to buy essential sporting items and sports injury prevention and
management equipment.
The grants are aimed at increasing physical activity and helping communities stay connected.
The grants help our local sporting clubs and teams, who often run on a very tight budget, buy the equipment they need to
play the sports they love, Ms Symes said.
Priority will be given to applications from clubs and organisationsthat demonstrate how an Active Club Grant will
increase opportunities for regular physical activity in their community.
I encourage all eligible teams and clubs to apply for a VicHealth Active Club Grant and I look forward to coming to
watch a game soon, Ms Symes said.
Applications close on February 13. For further information or to apply online, visit www.vichealth.vic.gov.au/
activeclub.
