Funding helps dental service, Shepparton News, Shepparton VIC
Goulburn Valley Health will receive public dental services funding from the Andrews Government to go towards buying a heat sealer used for sterilisation and infection control for the hospitals dental services department. Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the dentists and dental technicians in the states north did fantastic work, and this new equipment funding would mean health services could continue to deliver vital public dental services to the community. Goulburn Valley Healths dental services clinical director David Whelan said the hospital sterilised 50 sets of dental equipment up to 10 times each day and placed the equipment in bags, which needed to be manually prepared. Now the contents will be heat sealed, which means less time, less cost and longer-lasting storage of sterilised equipment, Dr Whelan said. We are delighted with the funding.
