Green light for station

03 May 2016 Lilydale & Yarra Valley Leader, Melbourne (General News) WARBURTON A NEW police station will be established in Warburton with the Government committing $2.76 million to the project as part of Wednesdays State Budget. Warburton police officerin-charge Sergeant Tom Wilkinson welcomed the funding, saying the current station set up of two portable buildings was due for an upgrade. Sgt Wilkinson said the new station would be safer for members, safer for the public and improve the aesthetic appeal of the town. Northern Victoria state Labor MP Jaclyn Symes said the State Government would spend $36.8 million to replace or refurbish regional and rural police stations and residences across Victoria.
