31 Jul 2018 North Central Review (Kilmore), Melbourne (General News) KILMORE and District Hospital will move to the second phase of refurbishing the Caladenla Nursing Home In an effort to offer more choice to residents. Hospital CEO Sue Race confirmed the works were set to get underway following a S300.000 funding boosts from the government. The refurbishment project will see an Increase in single rooms for residents and reduce the number of people who share bathroom facilities as well as the creation of a second nursing hub to provide Improved access and support. Ms Race also said ihe refurbishments were about focusing on those who live there. I think this Is terrific as we can now offer more access to en suited rooms. This is their home and everyone would prefer lo have their own space to make their own, she said. It Is a huge factor in providing a home like environment, while also meeting the needs for the vulnerable In the community. We always want to provide a home-like environment which Is safe and people feel comfortable. Stage one of the initiatives provided upgraded bathrooms and bedrooms, making the latest round of refurbish mentsacontinued upgrade Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the nursing home will receive the funding under the Significant Facility Refurbishment Initiative. Caladenia Nursing Home plays a key role in the Kilmore community. It becomes the home for many older locals and this funding will help make sure their amenities are up to scratch, Ms Symes said.
