Ice action sessions soon
27 Sep 2016 North Central Review (Kilmore), Melbourne (General News)
MITCHELL Shire is one of five organisations throughout Northern Victoria that has been awarded a Victorian Community Ice Action Grant. Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes, said the grants of up to $10,000 each will be used to deliver local initiatives such as workshops, forums, local campaigns, training and engagement with young people. The Mitchell project, Ice Breaker, aims to prevent and reduce ice related harm for young people and their families in Mitchell Shire by delivering a series of community forums, developing a youth-led campaign to promote local services and facilitating a series of parent information sessions. Im very proud that the councils who applied for funding were successful in obtaining a community grant, Ms Symes said. They will use the money for various programs to tackle ice at the grassroots, through community forums and other projects. Licensed by Copyright Agency.
