Long wait is finally over

It has been a long wait to hear the results of the first Pick My Project initiative.
The Victorian Government started taking submissions for project ideas from across the state in late May.
Projects were reviewed in July and voting took place from August to September.
The government yesterday congratulated the 237 successful project ideas which share $30 million in Pick My Project funding.
According to the Pick My Project website, the funding was split equally between metro and regional Victoria, with each of the six metro and nine regional partnership areas receiving a minimum of $1 million.
Funding within each partnership area was then allocated by population.
To ensure a range of small and large communities had the opportunity to be part of Pick My Project, no more than 50 per cent of a partnership areas funding could go to one Local Government Area, the website read.
The Goulburn region had nine successful projects, spanning across City of Greater Shepparton and Mitchell, Murrindindi, Moira and Strathbogie shires.
It was joined by the Wimmera Southern Mallee and Great South Coast regions, also with nine successful projects each.
The regions of Barwon (22), Central Highlands (14), Eastern Metro (25), Gippsland (23), Inner Metro (10), Inner South East Metro (11), Loddon Campaspe (16), Northern Metro (18), Southern Metro (31) and Western Metro (25) all had 10 or more successful projects.
Ovens Murray had eight and the Mallee region had seven successful projects.
A total of $1 480 006 was allocated throughout the Goulburn region. For information and to view all successful projects in the state, visit https://pickmyproject.vic.gov.au/
