Victorian Education Minister James Merlino was offered a snapshot of the talents of Cobram students on Wednesday last week after a whirlwind visit to the region. Mr Merlino toured educational facilities in Cobram and spoke to local students as part of celebrations for International Youth Day on August 12. A spokesperson for the education minister said Mr Merlino and Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes visted Cobram Secondary College to tour the schools facilies and speak with the principal, school council president, staff and students. The minister was impressed by the schools arts and music program, the spokesperson said. He enjoyed talking with students that are engaged in these activities who are clearly very talented. It was a very worthwhile visit and it assisted us with understanding the available opportunities to build the Education State in Cobram. The visit was part of a wider tour across northern Victoria, where Mr Merlino also visited schools in Yarrawonga, Benalla, Wangaratta, Shepparton and Seymour.
