INDIGO Shire mayor Jenny OConnor has claimed her first victory in the annual politicians grape stomp as part of the Winery Walkabout.
Cr OConnor and her stomping partner, Rutherglen Apex Club president Jamie Cooper, produced 2.4 litres in the allocated three minutes to finish just ahead of Cathy McGowan in potentially her final appearance in the event as Indi MP.
Reigning champion, Labors Jaclyn Symes, was third. Im incredibly unfit so that was hard going, but it was great fun, Cr OConnor said. It is great to see the people come out in Rutherglen as they have today.
Cr OConnor competed last year with Indi Nationals 2016 candidate, Marty Corboy, and blamed him for their poor showing.
