A NEW $2.7 million roundabout at the intersection of Benalla-Winton Road and Hume Freeway has opened. Jaclyn Symes (MLC, Northern Victoria) said the upgrade will boost safety and improve access to the Hume Freeway and surrounding towns of Benalla, Yarrawonga and Winton. Ms Symes said the project involved eliminating the unusual intersection, which has been the location of a number of serious crashes, including one fatality, and near misses over recent years.
