Safe travel through roundabout

THE roundabout installed on Beechworth-Wodonga Road at Wooragee has been described as an improvement to one of Victorias most dangerous roads.
Now opened for a few weeks, the roundabout is part of a $9.6 million upgrade to the major throughway.
The new overtaking lane between Edmondson Lane and Star Lane aims to improve traffic flow for Wodonga-bound traffic and the speed limit was lowered to 80km/h through the Wooragee township.
Northern Victoria MP Jaclyn Symes said the roundabout would improve safety for drivers and cyclists at the notorious intersection. This section of Beechworth-Wodonga Road is being transformed from one of the most dangerous roads in the state to a much safer connection for the community, she said.
