Synthetic green upgrade ahead

26 Apr 2016 North Central Review (Kilmore), Melbourne (General News) A MUCH sought-after synthetic green will now come to fruition for Wallan Bowling Club. Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced last Sunday that the club will be the recipient of a $100,000 grant from the State Governments Community Sports and Infrastructure Fund. The club has been working hard to fundraise for this project and I am excited to announce this funding, Ms Symes said. Upgrading to a synthetic surface will grow the clubs numbers and enable play all year around. Wallan and Kilmore District Community Bank representative Tracey Charry announced on the same day that the bank will also be making a $40,000 contribution towards the bowling green upgrade. One of the only clubs in the shire without a synthetic green, the announcement was well-received. Wallan Bowling Club President Geoff Symons said the club was pleased with the news and members look forward to playing on the new surface. This is going to do so much for the club, he said. A timeline for the upgrade will soon be formalised.
