Tourism grants available

05 Oct 2016 Yea Chronicle, Yea VIC (General News) BUSINESSES, investors, tourism associations and local councils in Northern Victoria can now apply for a new round of grants for major tourism infrastructure projects that boost the economy and create jobs. Grants of between $250,000 and $750,000 are available for exciting new projects that drive visitation and create jobs for locals. The state government recently launched the Victorian Visitor Economy Strategy, aiming to grow the visitor economy. The Strategy outlines ambitions to increase visitor spending to $36.5 billion each year by 2025 and increase employment in the sector to 320,700 jobs. Businesses and tourism organisations in Northern Victoria have some great ideas and this latest grants round is an opportunity for them to get their projects up and running, Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes said. Weve set ambitious targets to grow Victorias visitor economy like never before, programs like the Tourism Demand Driver Infrastructure grants will help us do just that and I would encourage Northern Victoria tourism operators to apply.
