10 Oct 2018 Seymour Telegraph, Seymour VIC (General News) Seymour Racing Clubs new tie-up stalls and audio-visual upgrades have been completed, with Victorian Racing Minister Martin Pakula visiting the club on Wednesday to inspect the additions. As part of the works, new optic and triax cables have been laid, which ensures the best possible audio-visual outputs to Racing.com, enhancing racing broadcasts. The tie-up stalls were completed earlier this year and added an additional 28 stalls to the existing stall area, bringing the total number of tie-up stalls to 150. Were grateful for the Victorian Governments ongoing investment in infrastructure and racing events at Seymour racecourse, Seymour Racing Club chief executive Penny Reeve said. These upgrades will expand our ability to accommodate horses at the track, allowing us to maintain Seymours reputation as a major country racing venue. Since 2014, the government has provided more than $4.1 million to support eight infrastructure projects and two race-day events at Seymour racecourse. The racing industry in the region generates more than $227 million for the Victorian economy annually and helps sustain more than 2240 fulltime equivalent jobs locally. Seymour Racing Club have been doing it tough but their future is bright and with this investment it will help the club to be one of the premier thoroughbred racing venues in country Victoria, Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said.
