Manufacturing in Wodonga and surrounds will benefit from more jobs and investment thanks to grants from the Victorian Government to make the sector more competitive and innovative. 

The Made in Victoria – Manufacturing Growth Program provides grants of up to $250,000 to support businesses to introduce advanced technology, boost productivity and competitiveness, and generate more sustainable jobs.

The 15 recipients will share in $3.5 million of funding and span a variety of sectors including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, mining, construction, and machinery and equipment.

Among the recipients to receive grants is Omega Manufacturing Group from Wodonga. 

The project is valued at $997,573 and will create around 9 new jobs, helping to drive the region’s economic growth.

The program’s funded projects are worth more than $16 million in total and are expected to create more than 170 new jobs across the state.

The program is a key part of the Victorian Government’s suite of targeted investments to drive innovation in our advanced manufacturing sector including the $15 million Made in Victoria – Industry R&D Infrastructure Fund and the $4.5 million Digital Jobs for Manufacturing Program.

Manufacturing is a driving force of the Victorian economy, employing more than 250,000 people, contributing $33 billion to the state’s economy each year, and providing 30 per cent of the nation’s manufacturing output.
